He was one of the chief factors in the Catholic Counter-Reformation
He was born in the Castle of Arona, a town on the southern shore of the Lago Maggiore in northern Italy, 2 October, 1538; died at Milan, 3 November, 1584.
He has written the Catechism of the Trent Council.
His feast is on 4 November. In Trichur Archdiocese the Catechism Teachers Day is on 4th November or the following Sunday. This year it was on 7th November.
